How does the charger check work?

Select your brand first and then your model. You immediately see whether your charger is eligible, connectable, or not supported for ERE registration.

Chargers with a built-in MID meter are usually directly eligible. Without MID you can often still connect for insights and later upgrade to a MID-ready setup.

Your charger has a built-in MID meter. Connect it and your sessions count toward ERE registration right away.

Connectable

You can connect to see your sessions. ERE credits need a MID meter: you can upgrade via a quote or a Secondary Allocation Point.

Not supported

We can't connect this model (yet). Request a quote for a charger that does register automatically.

Why a list alone is not enough

Manufacturers ship variants with or without a built-in MID meter, different firmware, or a separate metering setup. A list helps orient • but it cannot replace checking your actual installation and metering chain.

Frequently asked questions

A MID meter is a certified energy meter that meets the EU Measuring Instruments Directive (MID). The Dutch NEa only registers charging sessions measured with such a meter. Many modern chargers have it built in, which makes you directly eligible for ERE registration.

You can often still connect to see your sessions, but without metered kWh data you don't earn credits yet. There are two routes: request a quote to upgrade to a charger with a built-in MID meter, or apply for a Secondary Allocation Point (SAP) with your grid operator (a one-off € 200 to € 300 installation, plus monthly costs). Your sessions count from the moment the MID meter is in place; what you charged before that does not count later.

For many brands you link your account once through a direct cloud connection; Joulo then syncs your charging sessions automatically. If your charger speaks OCPP, you connect via the OCPP gateway. No manual entry is needed: a photo of your meter is not a valid measurement source, ERE registration pulls full session data from the backend.

The payout depends on the market. As a guide price we use a net € 0.12 to € 0.15 per kWh charged at home with a MID meter, after our service fee. Use the calculator to see what that means for your usage.

Yes. The scheme applies from 1 January 2026. Sessions from that date can be submitted retroactively, so you lose nothing by connecting later.
