Most providers promise an amount per kWh. We publish what was actually sold: every ERE sale, with its date, volume and realised price.

* Gross per kWh: the sale price per ERE converted per kWh charged at home (one kWh yields ± 0.33 ERE), before service fees. Which fee comes off differs per customer and contract; your dashboard uses your own rate. The charging quarter is the quarter in which the sold kWh were charged; payout follows per quarter once the sale is settled. The transfer is the quarter in which the EREs are delivered to the buyer • only compare a price with a sale that transfers in the same quarter. New sales appear here automatically.

The first sale made the news through an ANP press release: the first 2 million emission units, of which nearly € 1 million goes to Dutch EV drivers.

Harm spent over seven years as a trader at Flow Traders, Europe's largest liquidity provider and market maker in ETFs and futures, active in equity, fixed income, FX and commodities. He holds an MSc in Financial Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

How we get from kWh to euros
From kWh to ERE
Every kWh charged at home is worth about 0.33 ERE: the renewable share of the Dutch grid (50.5%) times the CO₂ factor of 0.6588 kg per kWh.
Sold at the market price
Joulo sells the registered ERE credits through brokers to parties with a reduction obligation. The price depends on the market; as a reference we use € 0.12 to € 0.15 net per kWh.
Your share
Your service fee comes off the gross proceeds; that fee differs per situation (consumer, business, through an energy partner, or with a discount). We pay out the rest quarterly, once the sale has settled • your dashboard always uses your own rate.
Earlier transfer, quarterly payout
The standard transfer of 2026 EREs takes place in the first quarter of 2027. We transfer one to two quarters earlier, so we can pay you out quarterly. In our sales so far that cost €0.005 per ERE per quarter. That amount is stated on the broker's confirmation and is already in the price you see here; you find it per sale under Details in the ledger. So only compare a price with a sale that transfers in the same quarter: €0.48 transferred in Q1 2027 is worth less than €0.48 transferred in Q4 2026.
Why we don't guarantee an amount
A guaranteed amount per kWh sounds safe. But whoever guarantees a floor prices in that risk and keeps the upside above it. We sell at the market price, charge our service fee and publish the result.
The ERE price moves with the market and can therefore also fall. That is why we don't promise amounts up front: here you see what each sale actually returned, and the calculator always uses three scenarios (low, mid and high).
